Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I park my car?

Parking is available 100m from our summer base at the Ice skating hall car park on Hauptstrasse 15 Matten. Directions:

What should I bring with me?

For all water activities you will need swimming clothes and a towel, and any medication you would normally carry on you (eg. Ventalin, Antihistamines, Insulin).  For trips away from Interlaken we recommend bringing a small day pack and some cash which can be safely left in the bus during the trip.  You can read a more comprehensive guide here: Interlaken: what to bring.

For winter activities, we recommend bringing ski gear and normal winter layers.  We also rent ski clothing in case you aren't travelling with your own.

Can I bring a camera with me?

It depends on each activity.  For safety reasons, cameras a prohibited on certain activities, but you can of course bring a camera for the scenic drive before and after the trip.  For more details, see our ultimate guide on what to bring: Interlaken: what to bring.

In case you want to bring your GoPro with you for a water activity, the only place where it will be allowed during the trip is with a "flat adhesive mount" on the helmet.  No chest mounts, no hand-held grips.

How many people fit in one raft?

On our white-water trips we fit 8 passengers plus one guide.  On Rafting Aare we can fit 14 adults or 16 kids plus one guide.

Is there a weight limit for certian activities?

The maximum weight ranges from 105kg (243lbs) to 130kg (287lbs) depending on the activity. However, it is at the discretion of the trip leader and guides as to who is physically appropriate to participate.  Details on the exact weight restrictions can be found on the information pdf which can be downloaded from the trip details page for your activity.

What if there is bad weather?

Sometimes outdoor activities can be affected by weather conditions but it is difficult to predict exactly how the weather will be until a few days before the trip.  For any uncertainties please contact us closer to the departure date, in case the trip cannot depart we will try to either accommodate you on another date or activity or refund your booking.

What is the cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours notice for cancellations of individual bookings of up to 8 participants . Cancellations within 48 hours of departure are not entitled to refund unless the cancellation was made by the operator.

Please visit our terms and conditions page for a complete description of our cancellation policy.

Do I need canyoning experience for Chli Schliere?

Previous experience is not required, but you do need to be athletic, confident in water and confident with heights.  If you are not comfortable jumping from the 10m diving platform in a swimming pool, or not confident swimming in moving water, then Canyoning Grimsel or Canyoning Interlaken is better suited to you.

Group discounts are available for groups of 10 participants or more.  Information can be found here: Group Discounts

Group bookings entail different cancellation policies.
